"Duties and Responsibilities1. Reviews exception reports, identifies root causes of the out-of-balances and communicates with business partners. Assists with potential solutions, providing feedback to ensure same-day resolution.2. Works closely with Corporate Finance and the VBS Control Team to ensure all regulatory requirements are met and well documented.3. Compiles weekly and adhoc data for Corporate Finance and the Control Team. Exercises good judgement when reporting capital charges to Finance.4. Exercises good judgment and discretion while working out-of-balances, leveraging business partners and elevating issues when appropriate.5. Interprets and understands transactions in all areas of VBS Mutual Funds Operations to include, but not limited to, trade verification, settlements, share registration, dividend and income balancing, reconciliation, and research and problem resolution. Maintains ability to process all work types if required based on business volumes.6. Effectively utilizes knowledge of VBS policies and procedures to problem solve with internal and external clients. Escalates the most complex problems to the supervisor.7. Identifies team work flow related issues that could affect the level of service provided to our clients. Proposes recommendations and solutions to issues that may arise on an as-needed basis. Assists with implementation of approved solutions and work flow changes.8. Provides training and support to all associates and implements procedures as changes or new systems are implemented. Works with supervisor to develop training programs, update procedure manuals and serve as a subject matter expert for unit functions.9. Monitors Error account and suspense account activity to ensure all positions are flat upon settlement.10. Demonstrates an ?expertise? within Thompson Beta, SuRPAS and the related CA Webviewer and Document Direct reports.11. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsUndergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.Minimum two years of general business or Vanguard experience preferred. One year of mutual fund operations experience preferred but not required.Superior analytical and problem solving skillsStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent attention to detailAbility to prioritize and multi-task while meeting daily, weekly, or monthly deadlinesKnowledge and understanding of SEC and FINRA rulesAbility to react quickly and judiciously to market-sensitive client issuesExpert knowledge of SuRPAS, Beta, CA Webviewer and Document DirectAbility to work independently while taking a proactive approach to resolving any discrepancies.Ability to quickly learn new processes/procedures with little or no supervision."
